A diet is rather like going on a holiday - one day you have to return to normal eating. This usually results in weight gain of the lost weight and more.

Fad diets only work in the short term they are not a long term solution. Research has established time and time again that fad diets do not work and more often than not result in increased weight gain.
Long hours, stress, lack of time to cook or to exercise all contribute to weight gain.  My busy clients need quick, easy to prepare tasty meal options along with  herbal and nutritional supplements to help them achieve their weight loss goals.

Through Corporate Hippy Natural Therapies, my aim is to change life habits and re-establish a permanent but realistic eating approach.  To severely restrict calories creating hunger pains is not a successful long-term, weight management strategy.

Foods I include in my weight management programs are foods that metabolically encourage fat reduction and also satisfy any hunger pangs. Low glycaemic foods are encouraged.  An appropriate balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates and the right fats as part of a healthy lifestyle change will ensure the body returns to a more stabile weight. A diet with the essential nutrients will not only reduce any hunger but will increase your the energy levels and wellbeing.

Herbs and supplements are chosen if necessary to address issues that may be hindering weight loss such as stress, toxins, poor liver function or digestion, problems with thyroid and metabolic function and sugar cravings. Herbs and nutritional supplements are prescribed on an individual basis and only when necessary.

 

Exercise and appropriate nutritional advice to support an exercise program are also an essential part of any long term weight management programme.

When measuring your weight results it is not just the scales that give a picture of your achievements.  I therefore, measure the reduction fat percentage using a body composition monitor which monitors body fat percentage, metabolic rate and visceral fat (which is a key indicator of diabetes type 2 risk and heart disease risk).   This measurement is critical as reduction in fat percentage is linked to an increased metabolic rate.  


The body composition monitor works by calculating your body composition using bio-electrical impedance analysis (BIA). Electrical signals are safely passed through the body via footpads on a monitor platform. It sends a signal to flow through fluids in the muscle and other body tissues but meets resistance as it passes through body fat, as it contains little fluid. This resistance is called impedance. These impedance readings are then entered into medically researched mathematical formulas to calculate the individual’s body composition. Other measurements the Body composition monitor can test include muscle mass and bone density.
